RUSH

 Today when I was told by my colleague that we were on our way to watch this movie called 'Rush'. I had absolutely no idea what was the movie about and I chose to keep it that way, but some part of my brain kept guessing. After knowing the star cast I thought it seemed like an action/war movie.

        I am not sure if it was because I played sports all my life and understand and see sport rivalries a little different than others but as ‘Rush’ progressed I grew increasingly invested on the relationship between hunt and lauda to a point where I did not see them as two characters but as collective and complete whole where the existence of one depended on the other. As the movie started and the narrative laid the story I was fixed into my seat for the next 125 mins. The roaring engines , screeching tyres, the idealism filled Daniel Brühl and the chocolate boy Chris hemsworth just had me engrossed into the script all the way long.

          The best part of the movie was neither of them was a hero or a villain .They were just two people struggling desperately against their instincts as they competed for glory. Chris high on adrenaline and Daniel on perfectionising success .Throughout the movie my allegiance failed to be constant with anyone of them. A good inspiring movie, after a long time.

Goa Carnival

          Goa Carnival was  the most eagerly awaited event in my tenure in goa and trust me, it was worth waiting for.Last year the carnival was cancelled due to an unfortunate mishap in which a bus carrying 50 odd school children had plunged into the river kalvi , 25 kms north of panaji leaving 8 dead.

            The Goa carnival started off with the parade which was an awesome spectacle encompassing a mind-boggling array of activities. Masked revelers dancing to live band music and splendidly decorated floats were the highlights of this fascinating jamboree.The other highlights of the carnival were mind blowing performances by agnee-the band , farhaan akhtar and parikrama. the local boy wendell rodricks also managed to make a few pretty ladies walk the ramp in mesmerizing outfits.Well agnee really rocked the 9th night and made me a big fan of theirs. the crowd went crazy listening to mohan, who successfully managed to hypnotise them and make them sway to his tunes.the food festival was one segment that lacked attention,or may be me being such a big foodie it was a little difficult for me to get impressed by the spread.

               Hoping to see many more carnivals in goa.

The First Taste of Flying ...

             Every person at some stage of his life has always looked up at the sky and wondered ' how would everything look from up there?' or what would it feel to glide around the clouds , and feel the wind under your arms , the feeling of weightlessness and the a dream to fly .... everyone has ... and so did i ... not at a very young age but at an age where i gathered my senses and kept bumping into people who kept saying "even monkeys could fly" . So i thought lets be one of those crazy monkeys with a dream to be different and a passion to fly.
           Back in school days i still remember what a tough time i gave my parents.On weekends i used to run to the local flying club ,toil the entire day in the hot sun just to get one 15 min joyride on a heavy chuck glider.The moment the wheels left earth it was a deep silence ,silence of being disconnected from the rest of the world ,it was peace up there .A feeling of being a cut above ,from where ever issue of the world seemed petty .The moment i got airborne ,it was eternal bliss , it gave me a feeling which has became my weakness since then.Those 15 mins were the most refreshing moments i ever had and every time i visited the skies i was getting into an irresistible addiction .For some it is a game of numbers while for others it is the currency that takes them there , but for me its always been the passion and the thrill that makes me crave for more joy of flight.

                          to go back up there won't have to wait ;
                                                  it won't be long
                         the gods know it for sure ; thats my place
                                                 thats where i belong.
